Sportsnet.ca -- Mired in an eight-game losing skid Mighty Ducks general manager Brian Burke is far from finished shaking his team up.
Sources tell Sportsnet Anaheim has served written notice skilled forward Petr Sykora is now on the market."We used to receive a fax from teams looking for interest at the minor league level on certain players," said a rival NHL executive. "Now, more and more managers are saving time and shopping all players this way."Sykora, who won a Stanley Cup with the New Jersey Devils, is in the final year of a contract that pays him 3.1 million this season.This latest push by the Mighty Ducks comes shortly after the team claimed veteran Columbus Blue Jackets forward Todd Marchant off waivers.Marchant, whose involvement in last week's Sergei Fedorov trade to Columbus was foiled by a no-trade clause, moves to Anaheim along with a contract that pays him 2.47 million this season, in addition to the remaining three years also at 2.47 million.

Two winning streaks ended in Calgary on Friday. The Flames' eight-game winning streak was snapped with a 5-2 loss to the Blackhawks. Miikka Kiprusoff's run of seven straight wins also ended.

Two reasons to trade Fedorov
There are two things that need to be said about the Mighty Ducks of Anaheim dumping Sergei Fedorov to the Columbus Blue Jackets. The first is that the Ducks will now free up some cap room. But the second is that the Ducks couldn't have thought too much of Fedorov.
