News and Notes from around the league

Big moves could be coming in Vancouver, J.R. is likely headed out of Hollywood and the Thrashers' playoff hopes could be dashed by injury. Hot n' Not, Farm Report, Junior Report and the best in quotes, Chirping, in this week's edition of TSN.ca's Backchecking.
AROUND THE RINKS- With the Canucks mired in a tailspin, the Vancouver Province debates whether the Canucks should fire coach Marc Crawford or, more likely, make a blockbuster trade involving Todd Bertuzzi.
- Kings C Jeremy Roenick, enduring the worst season of his career (with 19 points and a minus-6 rating in 54 games) tells the Los Angeles Times that he would like to stay with the Kings, but knows that the Kings won't want him back after Kings CEO Tim Leiweke singled out Roenick as a disappointment. Even so, Roenick is playing with a chip fracture in his ankle, showing the kind of veteran leadership that might interest another team next season.
- An injury to Thrashers G Kari Lehtonen will put veteran Mike Dunham in the spotlight down the stretch for Altanta.
- The Montreal Gazette wonders whether Canadiens LW Jan Bulis might be trade bait in the offseason. Despite a career-best 19 goals, Bulis has been a healthy scratch in five of the last eight games. However, winger Richard Zednik is the latest Hab forward to hit the doghouse -- he's been a healthy scratch the last two games.
