With hockey being the casualty of the labour woes between the NHL and the NHL Players' Association, the "losers" tournament looks an awful lot like a winner. The 2005 world championship has an appeal like it has never had before.
This time out, Canada is pooled with the United States, Finland, Sweden, Slovenia, Latvia, Ukraine and Denmark. The other pool includes the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Russia, Austria, Germany, Switzerland, Belarus and Kazakhstan.
