Quinn thinks Leafs still a playoff team
It wasn't quite Don Waddell's playoff guarantee of last month for the Atlanta Thrashers but head coach Pat Quinn insists his Toronto Maple Leafs can still join the spring-time party despite their recent losing slide.

Following a 4-2 loss to rival Ottawa, the Toronto Maple Leafs also lost centre Eric Lindros for the season after he reinjured his right wrist.

The Carolina Hurricanes have suffered a setback to their aspirations to win the Stanley Cup because winger Erik Cole has suffered a significant neck injury. The Hurricanes announced Sunday that Cole has a compression fracture in a vertebra in his neck expected to miss at least the rest of the regular season.
